Team-Building Workshops
In these competitive times, whether yours is an established non-profit agency, a for profit business, or an ad hoc campaign organization, your energy and resources are focused on “winning”, “beating the competition”, and “finishing first”. Ironically, meeting these external objectives successfully rests on your ability to foster an internal work culture that supports team work, values collaboration, and supports cooperative decision-making and action.
There are many barriers to team work that confound the best intentions. People may believe that “Teamwork divides the task and doubles the success”, or that “Together Everyone Achieves More”, but without the essential tools to put those beliefs into practice, few teams thrive – or survive.
Joanne D’Arcangelo of JD’A Consulting, Inc. and Karen Heck of The Avalon Group can provide your team a comprehensive, introductory training workshop on team-building strategies and systems development techniques that will:

- improve staff morale
- enhance performance and productivity
- foster supportive interpersonal relationships in the work team
- ensure continuous feedback and improvement in your organization
Whether you’re assembling a new team, integrating a new employee into your existing team, or wanting to “rev up” and reinvigorate your current team, this customized training will provide the fundamentals for team success. Each day-long workshop provides:
- Pre-workshop interviews with each staff member and staff leader to assess needs, barriers, and goals;
- Meyers-Brigg Personality Profile assessment for each staff member;
- Skill-building exercises on group dynamics, achieving group agreement, creating meeting liturgies, defining the “interests of the team”, recognizing and applying norming practices, and achieving system improvements; and,
- Guided interactive small group sessions to customize and apply these tools to address your team’s needs.
When organizations are forced to do far more with less, how can you afford not to provide your team the tools they need to perform their best - productively, efficiently, and passionately?
Karen Heck is a certified Meyers-Briggs trainer and provides the Meyers-Briggs Type Inventory assessment to participants prior to the workshop. At the workshop she provides interactive activities to facilitate understanding of how Meyers-Briggs Types can enhance workplace relationships and productivity.
Joanne D’Arcangelo has led staff teams in her capacity as a non-profit executive director and chief of staff. Joanne conducts the pre-workshops interviews, leads the skills-building exercises and provides support and supervision of the interactive small group sessions.
